41% for 2 children

by Mary
(Batavia, NY)

I appeared before a judge in Batavia, NY to try and have my child support reduced. I gross on a straight week $420. The judges original order was $177 for 4 children home and 2 of those in college. I went back to court to have the amount reduced because One of the 2 is married now and the other moved out. The judge did not change the order and I will continue to have $177/ week deducted from my check which is over 41% before any taxes are removed. I am in shock. My spouse grosses over $800 weekly and with my money will have with overtime over $1000 a week to pay his bills while I have under $200 a week to pay my bills. Who else with less than half the income of the other spouse has to pay this much. My spouse recently bought a newer Trailblazer with payments. He is going on a second week long vacation which will cost nearly $2000. I am in debt to my sister for paying for repairs on my car. I owe the IRS $1200 and am forced to go bankrupt. I cannot afford to see my counselor anymore because of the totally unfair amount the judge rendered. How is any of this fair. I left an abusive marriage and am trying my best to establish a relationship with my children. I slaved for my spouse and when I did work he kept every cent I made. The judge didn't even look at the financial disclosures. A friend says the judge must hate me. I will never have anything in life. I love my children and don't mind supporting them. But 25% is the standard for 2 children. Why when he makes over double what I make is he awarded so much money. Is there a way to appeal?????????
