Money Management?
by: Liderien

The guy who posted his comment on money management obviously did not grow up poor. Just because the woman is doing well off because of child support does not mean the children are reaping the benefit of it. To think so is naive. I feel for this man as I believe he is being wronged as well. I have seen so many men who have no secondary education struggle to even have a place to live because he is in such poverty, and its because of the amount of money he has to pay in child support. Child support needs to be revised or removed. See my post and it explains my view of child support. Yes, I am a woman and a single mother who raised her child alone with no financial help from the father.

Money Management

Men need to understand that money management is important with child support issues. Manage your money accordingly by living within your means and you should be fine. I pay child support to my ex for years have betterd my self with education and employment etc and managed my money carefully, I see my children often for emotional support and am doing very well. It was a struggle at first but all I thought of was, "this is for my kids". One you have kids you have to live for them then yourself. you will always be second. Who cares if the ex seems better off because if she is your kids should be as well.

You're Not Alone

While I feel your pain, please know that the Courts are not solely "for" the mothers. I am a mother of 3 and have been fighting the Courts for almost 20 years regarding child support. I just learned my tax refunds and payments taken from my pay check have been going to the father of my 2 oldest (27 and 21...yes, way over the age limit), and the father of my 5-year-old refuses to pay. To me, it's no longer a father versus mother issues in the eyes of the court. The Courts are oversaturated with these types of cases and, unfortunately, don't have the manpower to manage the load, so in the end the child(ren) is the one who ultimately loses. All I can say is "stand strong" for yours.
