Can I still have visitation?

by Lloyd
(Aurora, colorado)

I have not seen my oldest son since he was about 2 months old. He is now 11 yrs old. I do pay child support for the past 1 yr and, child support has taken 2 yrs of taxes from me and my family. I was paying child support about 7 yrs ago, they were taking it out of my checks, at the time I worked for a temp service. The child support stopped in 2003, for what reason I don't know. I get pulled over say my license has been suspended for child support. I tried to go to Jefferson County To pay 3 months in advance to get my license back and was told to talk with the mother. I had no way of contacting her in anyway, and was told I did not have child support case no more in Jefferson County. Dec. of 2008 I had recieved a letter from child support that my license were going to be taking away again. The letter also said that I owed more than $20,000 in back support. So I called to find out what was going on and to set up garnishment out of my work check. They told me that she had closed the case in Jefferson County, and reopen one up in Denver County after 5 or 6 yrs of not receiving ant child support. It was not my fault I could not get a hold of her to see if she need any help. She did not want nothing to do with me when her mother said some racial comments about me. I do have 2 more children 9 and 7 yrs old that I have take care of, I also would like them to get to know their older brother. I don't have a lot of money to hire a lawyer either. I work pay check to pay check.
