Collecting Child Support from State to State

by Custodial Parent
(Suffolk County, NY)

I am having the same problem as another blog on this site regarding the comment "I live in Oklahoma and my ex lives in Texas and I would like to know how I can collect my child support from him since he lives in Texas." Well, I live in New York and my ex lives in North Carolina and it seems impossible to collect anything and I am not getting anyway. NY State child enforcement stated that I need to open an account with NC State enforcement, but NC stated that NY has to enforce it since I, the custodial parent, live in NY and started my account with them. I feel am getting the runaround or maybe the states don't even know what to do in this situation. It's very frustrating!!

Texas AG
by: David

You ned to contact the AG's office in Texas and open up a case in the county where the divorce was filed. Leave the rest to them.
