Disgusted about enforcing child support order for jerk

I was married for 12 + years. We have 2 great kids. 8 and 5. He disappeard in September of 08. He was gone around 2 months before he would contact myslef or the kids. We filed for divorce in December and it was final in February. I got the tax money and his child support was to begin in July 2009. He kept changing jobs. It was served to the employer on 06/30/09. No payment received until mid August.

By then he has changed jobs again. I requested papers be served to new employer 09/08/09. As of today 10/09/09 it has not been served beacuse of the cut back wih the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office. I have received 6 payments out of 14 thus far. He owes 2 additional months and counting. If I want to fight for the money owed I have to take it back to court with a filing fee of 300.00. In the meantime he still gets visitation, and I am stuck with the bills that are supposed to be paid for by both of us. What does it take to enforce the laws? Why do they seem to protect the non-custodial parent? He walks areound with out an ounce of concern for his lack of support. I faxed over the papers I have to employer. I hope it helps. I really wish he could be thankful for our blessings and what I do to provide for them and pay for our joint debt.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO AN ATTORNEY IF YOU HAVE A CASE WITH THE OAG THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS MATTER MAYBE NOT QUICKLY. BUT AT THE TIME OF YOUR DIVORCE YOUR ATTORNEY DIDN'T FILE A WRIT OF ORDER THEN PERHAPS YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GO BACK TO COURT.

GOOD LUCK
