Do Unto Others...

To all parents: can you think of a better time in your life where things came easy, maybe before anyone of us had children. I can tell my side of the story of paying child support, keep in mind I was born and raised in {N.Y.C} and moved to Georgia, why- to have a better life for my family. All my life in NY I couldn't wait to get married. I'm Italian and I believe that when you marry it's til death do you part, for the bible tells me so. The things wrong with everyone today is that everyone is worried about SELF and not looking at whats important. The things that are important to me are:
1. Keeping Jesus Christ at the head of my family.
2. Knowing what my family's doing at all times and pray for my friends.
3. To humble myself on my job and not let any pressure keep me from the glory that God has for me.
When I left NY I came to GA. with my ex-wife and she was pregnant with child and had a 5 month old girl that I took in as my own. With that said I was with my ex for 7 years until she didn't want to be in the the marriage any more because she couldn't handle it any more. (Maybe too young) I don't know. Maybe I worked too much. Either way we should have worked things out. The main reason we finally divorced was the affairs she was having. We had 3 children together and here's where my problem starts: she was awarded child support @ $495 a month, but w/the arrears @ $7000 I found it hard to keep up with my payments of $149.08. Every week that would come out of my payroll checks and in my line of work when it rains my money is short. I'm a heavy equipment operator and I'm in the right to work state. Well, I fell short. My economy has failed me. I was laid off from my job that I gave 7 years to and still paying {CS} with my unemployment checks... half of them. Here is where it gets worse... I found odd and end jobs. This all happened back in 2007-2008 and recently I had to go to jail for owing money. I pray that somebody can help me understand what is the purpose of going to jail. Child Support isn't going to get the money any faster AND if you have a job you've now lost it due to incarceration. What I want to know is when did money become more important than the emotional stability of our children?
