What Else do You do?
by: Anonymous

My ex-husband is retired military, he works for the government. I've given his information, every address he's ever had, his license plate #, his mothers' house, his job address, his SSN. Phone numbers home/cell.

He calls the children, he's this weekend August 7th going to be remarried for the second time, and he was engaged two more times before this wedding. They are scheduled to go on a honeymoon.
However, he has no money. He took the children on his taxes for dependents even though the 3 of 4 lived with me.

He receives a retirement check, and makes $19 per hour. He sends about $300 per mos. (when he sends it...)

My 4th child has lived with us for one year, because he didn't want to live with Dad anymore. He has not sent one penny more, KNOWING he's not taking care of him anymore.

He is supposed to pay a certain percntage for medical/dental etc., Not a dime. Then he tells me that "the chidren know what I can and can't afford" He tells them he had to raid his "piggy bank" to buy food. REALLY???

So, for over a year and a half, I've been dealing with the CSED here in MS. Our order came from the court in OK, he now lives in MD.

They keep giving some excuse or another on MD's side. My worker is a great guy, and keeps me updated, and encourages me to call.

MD won't get on the job. Last call they don't have a "verifiable address" to serve papers to.???

But I gave them ALL that info. So what do you do while our children arent' getting the support that is ordered?

Interstate laws are in place so that everything is interconnected, so it doesn't matter where they live, it shouldn't be this hard.

He's on facebook, has e-mail, goes to restaurants and is on the payroll with the US govt.

What the hell else do you have to do? My oldest is in college. Support was supposed to start in Sep. of 2007. Lord only knows how much he's in arrears.

But he's still moving about the country, freely, and not being held responsible.

I will probably (IF they ever get this done) be getting child support to help my Grandchildren....

Does it work? Itjust seems like it does for some, not for others. When we (my ex and I) was paying child support for his daughter, she received it by allotment. That was in the 80's-90's.

So, why is this so difficult now???

But, if you owed money to the IRS, I'm SURE they would have gotten this done by now.

November will be two years since my case was opened.

When your raising children, the last thing you want to have to do is play private detective, and social worker....

So, what did the previous person do exactly for 25 yrs to get the system to work?

I'm willing to do whatever ELSE it takes....

The system doesn't work
by: Anonymous

I am a mother that is raising 7 children 4 that are mine and three step children. My husband is paying child support and if he falls behind even one month, they sand him a court date. My ex whom I have one child with owes me $11,000.00 and only pays me $150.00 a month when he owes $450.00 a month. Whenever I call to complain the case worker doesn't care or do anything about it. I am so sick of the whole situation. He is walking around with touch screen phones but he can't make his payments.

Does the System Work?
by: Anonymous

Make the system work, write to your state's child support enforcement director, ask for a state hearing on why nothing is happening. Demand action, file personnel complaints. Every state is different and you don't have to be on welfare to get that action. Insist on a new case manager, report THAT to your state director. Take action, you're not doing nearly enough. Call every other day if you have to. Don't complain if you won't take action. Research your state's and the federal government's child support enforcement laws. Know them inside and out and APPLY them! Be able to quote family law code. I've been working on my case for 25 years, it's so worth all the work. I have checks coming weekly.
