Does the system work?

Being a single mom with three children I struggled to make ends meet. The Child Support Enforcement Office was no help to me. The caseworker I was assigned to was hateful and rude to me. My ex is still over $5,000 behind in payments and I still only receive payments periodically. After speaking with the Prosecutor I got a few payments however, I haven't received any lately and the judge gave him a slap on the wrist and said he better pay. I am not a high priority with the child support Enforcement office since I am not on welfare. In my opinion something is terribly wrong with the way the system works, or in this case the way it does not work!

Being a single mom can be tough, especially when there is not a father there to help on a consistent basis. Paying child support on and off will not help the child/children with the support that they need. Mothers have the right to child support to provide for their kids and fathers have the responsibility to take on that obligation. Will the laws ever change for the better of both the mother and father? We would like to think so.-Webmaster
