"Fathers Grandfathers" rights dont mean nothing in TEXAS?

I am a father of 3 boys, I raised two and their mother
raised one. The youngest is 19 years old. I am at this time
going to court for back child support payments of 50,000
dollars. She moved him at the age of 10, out of state,
without me knowing. I had to drive 14 hours one way to pick
him up in order for him stay the summer months with me,
"every summer"! She and I agreed 16 years ago I would pay
her, or some other types of bills she needed help with. I
was awarded the house, but I made the house payments for her
to live there for over 2 years. Now that he’s 19 years old,
I am being summoned to court to pay the back child support
on one, when I supported two. Before the age of 10, my son
stayed with me and my mother here in Texas, longer than he
stayed with his mother. One day she ups and moved to Alabama
where she resided 6 years. She did not tell anyone, not the
courts, not me, not anyone. I am disabled going to school
without pay, this is her way of getting back at me
just because I wanted visiting rights on my grandchildren.
My lawyer can’t give me ant good information.

WHAT CAN I DO? HOW DO YOU TELL THE JUGDE????

There is no {Father/Grandfather} rights in Texas
Why did it take her 16 years to find out I owe child
support? All these years I have been given her money. Where
was she when our two other boys needed her?

Court Order
by: David

Bottom line; as long as all parties follow existing court orders, there is no argument to be made. A personal agreement between you and the other party means absolutely nothing unless it goes through the court and signed into law by a judge.

The AG's office will do nothing about visitation and you will need to get an attorney to fight for you. In some cases, if you can show she did not comply with existing orders, then she can be held in contempt and you can seek to have your attorney fees and court costs paid by her. Hope this helps.

Texas No Rights For Fathers
by: J. Marek

Texas Father's have no rights. Too much is left up to Judge's to decide. Take a mother to court for interference of visitation, you'll be doing that till judgement day. Try and stop a mother from leaving the state or country with your children. Good luck. My ex and her Boss and lover of many years took my children to Oregon. Now I pay airfare along with child support.

No Statute of Limitation
by: Anonymous

Believe me I found out the hard way, there is no Statute of Limitations in Texas on back child support. But there is a statute of limitations on the non-custodial parent taking a custodial parent back to court (10 years) even when the non-custodial parent raised the child.

GRAND CHILDREN
by: MELISSA

OK I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL BUT I THINK YOU DON'T HAVE TO ASK THE COURT FOR VISITATION RIGHTS FOR YOUR GRANDCHILD. YOUR CHILDREN MAKE THAT CALL NOT HER. FIND ALL OF YOUR RECIEPTS WHERE YOU PAID THE HOUSE FOR TWO YEARS AND ANY OTHER HELP YOU GAVE HER. IT SOUNDS LIKE SHE IS MAD AT YOU FOR SOME OTHER REASON. GOOD LUCK, THIS IS A HARD BATTLE TO FIGHT BUT YOU NEED TO SHOW WHERE SHE WAS NOT THERE FOR HER KIDS.
