Applying For Child Support
The Harris County Child Support office is not a child support enforcement agency. Therefore, it does not have the necessary paperwork to establish a child support order. If you are interested in applying for child support services, you can hire an attorney, ask the Attorney General for representation, contact the Harris County Domestic Relations Office or prepare your own petition for child support. Once a child support has been ordered, you will need to contact the Child Support office in order to set up an account. You must fill out and submit either a Child Support Information Sheet or a copy of the court order in order to process your request. There are no fees for establishing a case with the Harris County Child Support Office.
Making Child Support Payments Income Withholding
Income withholding is processed through the Family Intake Section of the Harris County District Clerk's Office. There is a one-time $15 fee to initiate this service. This office accepts cash, cashier's checks, credit cards, or money orders, but they do accept personal checks.
