high school for 6 years?

by Mike
(NY)

Divorced father of a 17 year old boy, 20 thousand in arrears for daycare my son never went to, always been a good student in school until he realized his mother would benefit more child support monies if he never left high school, see I was thinking ahead so I thought and got a job as a mechanic at a college with the benefit that he goes 2 years free, she is not saving any money for his education and with the money I pay out it is hard to save for college thought this way he would be sure to go, this is his second year as a junior and only 3 months into school year, he has missed 10 days already, says his step dad wants him to see his brothers off to school while he goes hunting (deer carcass hanging in tree for a month) pretty soon he will be kicked out of school and not be able to attend this college I work for, I wonder how long he can do this and if I still have to pay child support even if he is 19 or 20 sitting on couch all day playing the play station, its a bummer seeing him waste his life for a temporary fix for his mom, I have no problem with paying support but would of liked to see him in college. P.S have been seeing him once a month for 2 years with out his mother knowing, god forbid if she found out that he was talking to me.
