How dump is this

My child is now 20 years old and I am still paying back child support and thats ok I understand that but like so many people these days I was laid off from my job and now all the money is gone I am broke flat broke its not that I wont pay this its that I cant pay it right now there is no money but if I don't pay than I am to sit in jail for the weekend! I don't understand how thats going to help? In fact all it dose is cost tax payers money!! My only crime is that I am broke right now!! And the only time I get to see my child is on the weekends ( shes lucky and found a job at Ross) Someone please tell how any of this is right? Is me sitting in jail going to some how make any one give me a job? And this last time I did have all of the payment so I gave them all I had at the time ( about a 1/3 of the payment) It was all I had at the time at least I tried and they still put me in jail..And you know even that would be ok if me sitting in jail would somehow pay the other 2/3rd of the payment BUT it dose not!!!!! In fact it cost the tax payers MORE money to put me in jail than I still owed for the other 2/3rds of my payment!! NOW HOW DUMP IS THAT? Sorry but the fact is that not all men bad people who run off on there kids some of as us are hear for them and even in bad times still try and its not good enough.
