Just because of how they're treating my disabled husband..I hate Harris County.

Ok, while it's true, my husband didn't pay his child support when the girls were small, I agree he should be in trouble for this.
No Question. But, maybe another way of doing this when he's on a disability check or "low-income", should be handled a little better way.
And, yes I agreed to take on his problems when I married him. But, this happened after we were married, and they KNOW about our low-income situation and our disabled daughter. My husband's attorney at the time, said the statement was, "everybody has problems".
BUT....after they sued him and enforced the order....this is where it gets stupid, hateful, and just downright mean to innocent parties to this whole thing. (my daughter and I)
He, his ex, the asst. DA, and Harris County Child Support office agreed on how much arrears he owed her. After they all agreed, they re-set an amount to 20% of his disability check. That SEEMED reasonable, AT THE TIME!. We faithfully pay it every single month.
My husband and I have an autistic daughter who gets an SSI check, also hubby's disabled and gets SSDI. So, that should explain we own NOTHING, and can't have any money, or investments worth more than $3000. That's Social Security Disability LAW, if we are to qualify for help with our daughter.
Harris county ok'd the "reasonable" payment every month, but the INTEREST..jeez, it reminds me of what the housing lenders did to all the people who are now in the great housing bubble pop! They want to charge all this interest on low-income, disabled people?? I agree he owes her, even if the girls are grown and married now. But that's just evil, in my opinion.
They want me to take anything from Harris County seriously???? No thank you, I'll drive the other way, if I have to go anywhere.
For every "agreed" payment we send, they show on the statement where that amount is subtracted, then they add back 3 times, yes, you read that correctly, 3 times, that paid amount AS INTEREST! Is that even legal?
I'm glad I have NEVER lived in Harris County, and I NEVER WILL! Any business, person, or group will NOT have to worry about me stepping foot into their county EVER!!!!! This is just hateful and stupid!
