Law Services

by Connie Dingle
(Hempstead N.Y. - USA)

I was awarded law services at the time I submitted violation of petition in December of 2008. I called customer services to find out the procedure after I received my date to go to court which was on Feb 6. No one could give me valid information. I received a call from child support investigator Ms Answorth on March 3 2009 wanting to know if & when was my court date. I explained to her that it has passed & was on Feb 6, 2009. She tried to say that I submitted my request late and also told me that her call to me was a courtesy because my phone call from her was something that was added on to her job description. She was a very curt & was talking over me. It sounded to me that she wanted me to know that making phone calls was something that she did not consider her job & she was quite annoyed because she had to do it. Well her attitude was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL because I did not have know nor was I concerned with her gripes with her position. I was not called in a timely fashion about my court date bottom line. Certainly from December to February there should have been some contact made with me & there was none. I called & no one could offer any info to me regarding representative for my court date so I had to go alone unrepresentative when the non custodial parent had his legal person with him.
