But it is Your child that suffers in the end. They are the ones that do without. You can call names if it makes you feel better but Really how could a parent not want to take care of their child. Most custodial parents have to work these days I know I do. Sometimes 2 jobs. If a non custodial parent could just work one and pay their support. WOW the child may benefit a bit.

I am going through the same thing except I have 3 children. My ex was abusive as well. I have been on the phone numerous times and to no avail. I do not understand if the law plainly states what is to be done...just do it! It is our children's right. They did not ask to have a dead beat for a dad...someone has to make them do what they are supposed to do and I guess it has to be us.

You are so right . The non custodial parent can get away with a sob story and chance after chance is given to them. Anyother default on a court ORDER by the Judge they would be in jail. Not for child support. My ex- has a lean on his property. He has his drivers license suspended, Has been to court too many times to count and on 2 occassions obtained an attorney, which I could not find one to represent me for less then $2000.00 yet he was able to afford legal representation . that money could have went to his arrearage owed (over $24.000.00) He makes alot of money construction, cash only???? only has to pay $361.00 a month for 2 kids. They have a new system in place that makes the non custodial parent report every week. @ months into the accountability stage my ex has defaulted. Hope something gets accomplished this time. Good luck.Do not give up or they keep winning!

My comment/advice....NEVER give up. Get a new attorney when possible. A attorney that specializes in children custody issues. NEVER give up! You have a long road ahead because your little one is only 5. She needs you to be strong and try not to let her know whats going on...it hurts them in the long run. Good luck to you...the system fails us but we have to deal with it. NEVER GIVE UP!
