I was a single mother at the age of 15 and my daughter's dad lived 3 houses away. But do you think he cared, No. He did not decide to pay child support until Nov. 1996 over six years later and only because of a court order. He then didn't see her until she was almost 11. Good Luck.

Response to Tonya by: Disabled Mom
You only won't get your child support Tonya, if you give up, which is EXACTLY what your ex and the child support enforcement system wants. Depending on your state's statute of limitations, you can get your child support when your ex goes on his social security benefits. I keep on my state director. Just recently I found out that welfare, which I was never on, is laying claim to thousands of dollars they aren't entitled to.

Sad But True by: Holcy
Very interesting story, you should be receiving the child support you deserve. It does not matter if you use the money to pay bills, because paying bills is in part with taking care of your girls. But you are holding strong and take care of your girls. I am a father who pays child support and it makes me mad that fathers avoid paying child support because they think you will use it on bills.
