More like Friend of the Ex-Husbands!!

Mommy & her Princess

Mommy & her Princess

Oh, my story could take days...but in a short version I am a mother of a beautiful 9 year old girl and her biological father has never been a part of her life unless it is convenient to him. He has also been in and out of court due to arrearages and non-payment of child support. Last Summer we went to court again for the umpteenth time and he made more excuses on why he wasn't working. He told the Judge that he was attending college again and could not work and attend school. The Judge asked him for his schedule and he was only going to school for 3 days a week, only 1/2 day each! I told the Judge that my best friend was working part time, putting herself through medical school, and doing an internship so there is no reason why he can't hold down a part time job and school. Of course, the Judge favored on his side and just warned him to show proof of jobs he would apply for. We went back and forth for years and the court always gave him a second chance. The most his arrearage was, was a hair under $9,000.00. I know there are parents out there that owe alot more, but for me that was enough! He would get a job and then quit within a few weeks. That was how it was when we were married also. Some people never change. After our last court hearing he packed up and moved to another state, so I have been trying to get a case transferred to that state but have had no luck at all. Basically the courts say that he has a bench warrant issued and if he returns to Michigan they can arrest him but until then I am pretty much out of luck. So it has been almost a year since he has seen our daughter, he has called her maybe 6 times since he moved. I get so frustrated that I just wish I could erase him out of our life, although I would never do that for my daughters sake. All I can do is try and be there for her as she grows up and let her know that she will always have me.
