Ms."Father" now in Florida
by Debbie
(FL)
I have been divorced now for some time - my daughter is now 14 years old - she did go live with her father in Texas a few years ago. He has blocked me from seeing my daughter this past Spring Break - even though the court order states that it is my time with my daughter. He knew that I was getting an airline ticket for her for that time, but he chose to go ahead and make plans for a vacation with her and the rest of his family. He got her excited about the trip before I knew anything about it and when I brought up a trip to Florida for Spring Break to my daughter, she got really upset about me trying to make plans for her during her Spring Break. As usual, I gave in rather than have her resent me. . .Now, he is trying to say that I am not paying enough child support - even though my paystubs say what they say . . .He and his attorney are saying that they are not accepting my paystubs as proof of income. I have hired an attorney of my own that is over there in Texas through a legal service. I am supposed to get a discounted rate . . . of $150/hour. Seems that he is friendly with my ex's attorney - wouldn't discuss the case with me over the phone - said that he would write me a letter. He said that about 2 months ago . . . never happened. What about e-mail? I am just frustrated I guess - being so far away and not being able to see my daughter and now it looks like that they are trying to take more that 20% of my net income.
