Never have seen my twins

by Bummed in
(Wisconsin)

My 7 year old twin boy's mother called me hostile while she was filing for support. I'm the furthest anyone can get from hostile. The hostile classification caused the state child support attorney to tell me I'm not allowed contact with the twins or their mother without even a chance to defend myself. For over seven years I've been paying support on time without any complaints, but now I'm tired of it. They live in Montana and I live in Wisconsin so visitation wouldn't be easy, but it could be done, it just isn't allowed. The mother makes a lot of money (as a nurse who owns a consulting firm), much more than I do, and if she wants to keep the boys all to herself I believe she should also be paying for their upbringing all by herself.

It's a good possibility she's remarried and my boys have even been adopted.

Is it possible to terminate my 'non-existent' parental rights and stop paying support?

Things would be much different if we lived in the same city, the same state even. With all the support I pay and other bills I can't afford to hire an attorney or two to figure this out for me. One attorney I had a consultation with wanted $5000.00 up front.

Thanks for listening.

Few things....

Is there an order of no contact?

Do you have witnesses that can support how your character?

There has to be more then just her word that you were "hostile", does she have proof to substanciate her claims?

What state are you in?

Does she know the prosecutor personally?

Do you have papers that prove they terminated your parental rights? If not, was it in the papers for legal service?

I might be able to help you if you want? Please email me at lelah35@gmail.com. thanks-Laurie

I can tell you that if u believe the children have been adopted and the there is another person acting as father to your children, I would get proof that they have been adopted, then it would be your choice as to if you would want to terminate your parental rights. If u do so then u can not expect to have and visitations ever to your children until they are of age and would want to see you by their choice. No one can tell you what to do but think hard about it, cause you can represent your self and ask for a review of child support every four years. Do some research on your rights then you will know what you can do. U must have proper documentation though, always keep any kind of documents that involve the case or children and payments on file.
