Non custodial parents paying child support

My story is as crazy as can be but, I know I'm not the only one. Lately, I been doing alot of studying the laws of my state and it has proven to have done me some good. I advise payee's to learn your rights before you go to court. also, find out about the process the state use for child support. There are simple things that the courts over looks that can hurt your pockets. Trust me I know. Let me share a problem I have at the present. I had 3 kids that I was in court for. I have 4 in all she's the youngest by my wife and live with me. I am self employed. Now, the case worker ask me for my Gross Income, which I gave her. I let her know that I was self employed. She knew I was married and had another child. Ok, here's why I say do your homework about the laws.

Now, remember my Gross, being self employed you can make alot more than you bring home. First mistake, she supposed to have used my Adjusted Gross ( big difference). Remember my fourth child, ok in my state it is like this. If you are on child support already and have another child, first comes first. But, if you have another child before CS they are all treated the same and will help lower what goes out. I told this story because, I been on CS 3 years with an Order that showed almost double what it supposed to had been, and due to my inability to keep up due to a lack of work, my Arrears are more than triple because of the state infraction. I have had it rechecked with the right income and I only owe a little over $4k. The Order has over $15k.
