on my own

by totally fed up
(dallas, tx)

It took me 2 years for AG in Texas to believe that my ex did not live at my address. (as that is the address he keeps giving out) He has moved to Oklahoma and they are just as bad. I have (in 5 years)received only 2 1/2 payments and that is because when his employer deducted the child support, he quit his job. I did receive a forfeited bond because he did'nt show up to court on another matter. Yes, he's a real winner. He doesn't file taxes. So when 90% of americans did not get their $600 Obama refund, most of their ex's did. I ,however, did not even get that. The authorities keep giving him more and more time to run and hide. Oklahoma's assistant DA said, in August 2010, that he wouldn't even look at my case until November 2010, because he was just put in jail for contempt. (that was over a year ago) So, I waited and called again.

Now I have to give them 30 more days to get a court date. The collection companies that are out there can only help if the NCP has a job and they can garnish their wages. If they work under the table and don't ever file taxes...they just run free. Also, they won' put him in jail after 2 years after the youngest child graduates high school. So as long as they can hide until then...sounds like they get off scott=free.

Strange how they pick and choose who they go after...pretty much sounds to me like the easy ones are the ones they go after. My friend pays every month $1000 child support. But, because he lost his job and was out of work, luckily for only 3 weeks, he fell behind and no one cared that he had rent or gas or food to buy. He was told it didn't matter child support comes first.

Another gripe...why can a NCP not better themselves without their ex benefitting? (male or female) The NCP has to pay child support and try to have some money left to spend on the children when they get to see them. The CP is not even required to use the insurance that the NCP has to provide.

This whole system is screwed up..from both directions.
