Orange County Calf is no longer filing Contemp Charges

Can the Attorney General get involved in MY CASE!! SOMEBODY that will help the CS parent. There has to be someone or some organization that represents the CS & helps them w/something like this? I am open to anyone emailing me w/help in this matter.

I am a single mother of a toddler & going to school full time. I started getting my child support in 2007 & up until April 17,2009 was the last one we have received. From the get go I have had to furnish any & all information I have found on my own about the father of my daughter. Some of it has been as easy as looking on anywho.com for his address, phone #, even apartment complex, & credit report. I even found out that he has applied for a credit card (American Express on 2.12.2010 yeah he doesn't have a job does he??
I just found out that because Calf. is hurting financially (who isn't?) so they are not going to file contempt charges unless I want to fly & PAY for a airline ticket, hotel myself & appear in all the court hearings!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Asking ME to pay (I'm the custodial parent)for airline tickets to fly from Indiana to Calif. & take a chance on of course he NOT showing up like he has done in the past, & that OC Child Support Division will not do anything to get him or issue out a warrant. So why should I fly out there w/money I do NOT have!

Where is the Justice in this? What happened to the CS parent having rights? He has been dogging the system & getting breaks so many times & Calf. just continues to let him do what he wants to do!

Where & Who can I get some help with this, get someone's attention & enforce the telephonic contempt hearing like in the past. Even if I do agree (I have to decided in 30 days) w/this it isn't any guarantee that he will even get picked up or charged?

Orange County has been a horrible nightmare. They give you wrong answers or answers that they are not suppose to give out cause it will show they are NOT doing there job like they're suppose to!!! Case in point around the end of Dec. My county was told by OC Child Support Office that his address has been verified since Dec. 11!! So why didn't they file contempt charges then? Then about a month ago I get a questionnaire asking if I know where he is & who his employer is & that they are still verifying residency????

In Indiana I have a particular caseworker all the time!! Not Orange County!!! You are lucky they even return your phone calls, or transmittal requests from my county office!!!

I HATE ORANGE COUNTY CHILD SUPPORT OFFICE!!!! So much for them being the strictest state out of 3?

To the idiot who commented on how the mom should excuse the dad from child support.

Children need a lot, financial and emotional support, and parenting support. If father isn't spending time helping with other aspects he should pay the majority of the financial support. Child support figures don't even pay enough to help feed and cloth a child.

You get a grip! Better yet, I hope you don't reproduce with your attitude!

I just found out last week that they have found my ex & he will now have to pay $2,900/mo instead of the orginal amount of $1,511.00!!!! But we still didn't get a contempt charge oh well I would rather him be working & paying his child support instead of being in jail & take a chance to lose his job then we are back to square 1.

Thank you very much I GREATLY appreciate it. I am a full time student bettering myself. I am sorry to hear about your mishap. Since this whole ordeal I have found some very good ways in finding information. If you need any help I will gladly share this with you. It was given to me by a friend's friend that use to be a private investigator. If I ever get the child support deserved then I plan on giving him so $ because he didn't have to give me info. to find things & he doesn't even know me.

I just want to say to everyone who is being mean to this lady. Why don't you try and work full time and try to support your children. It isn't as if she is asking for him to completely support the child. It takes a lot to raise a child and you deserve help from the father or mother of the child. The states should start enforcing child support laws but they are not due to the economy. I hope things work out for you eventually. I understand your frustration I am in the same boat. I support my daughters and have since I was divorced 10 years ago. I was only awarded $25 a month for two kids now is that fair to me or my children. He helped create them. I didn't file a modification for seven years and am now to receive 401 dollars which I do not get. Why is it that the absent parent can have fun and live in their own place but I as the custodial parent have to live with my parents in one room with my child because I can not afford rent. You all need to get a grip and leave this lady alone she deserves her support.

NO CLUE I am a FULL TIME STUDENT JUST ABOUT ALREADY TO GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE SO THERE YOU GO. How dare you comment on this when you have no clue what is going on!!!! He CHOSE to have NOTHING to do w/his daughter so go screw yourself!! Dads & MOTHERS should pay what is court ordered to do!!! I don't care who is court ordered to pay support BUT PAY IT!!!! He left us as soon as I was pregnant, then changed his # when the P.I. called him!! MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!!! GET A LIFE! HOPEFULLY YOU DON'T HAVE KIDS BECAUSE IF YOU WERE MY MOTHER I WOULD BE ASHAMED THE WORDS THAT CAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH.

Lady i dont feel sorry at all for you. You need to get a grip and move on in your life. It took two to tango. So why in this world have women come to the conclusion that it is only the responsibilty for men to pay for their child. Besides if they did put him in jail. Then where would you be. He still could not play and then he would never get any more than a mininal paying job if he was lucky. So in one answer you have not helped your self. If he does not want to support the kid . Consider it your and your childs lucky day and let it go. Just move on. The hate in this country on trying to get back at a spouse is unbelievable today.
