Pay or else

I was married to my wife for 22 years. We were jr high sweethearts and were together from age 13 till 40. We went to bed on a tuesday nite married and wednesday morning when I woke up she said she wanted a divorce. I have 3 children. For the sake of time I will describe my current situation. My 18 year old son has lived with me for the past 8 months. I pay his car payment and help him pay his insurance. I mentioned to my ex that I should stop paying support for him as he now lived with me. She quickly informed me that she would contact her attorney, and I would spend far more money in court than I would if I just pay her till he turns 19. I have 1 more month. The court system protects woman to the point of allowing ex wives to threaten and exstort their ex husbands. This is just 1 of several situations that I have had to just shut my mouth. Over the past 4 years I have sold or lost every material pocession I owned or were in the process of buying to pay my ex wife. I lost my job and continued to pay her because getting relief from the court would have cost more. I spent 5 nights in a mini-storage till I could move into a glorified apartment. It was a converted storage shed behind someones house. I paid $200 per month. Its all I could afford and stay in the same town as my kids. i was emmbarressed to have them over. Our town is very affluient. Things have since gotten better. I now rent a house and have just bought living room furniture, at a yard sale. I was on top at one time. Very well respected in our community and owning a home in one of the most sought after neiborhoods. It eveaporated almost instantly. By the time I payed her what the court ordered I could not support myself. When I ask her for help...she simply said pay or else.
