Contact DHS and request a review. You will have to do most of the paperwork and know information about your ex. Doesn't cost a dime. It does take quite awhile. In fact when I did it, it took about 6 months for the whole process to be completed. I'm sure a lawyer may be quicker...depending on your financial situation. I went about 14 years with the same amount and I thought "What is a few more months?"
