I have always paid my child support. After my divorce my ex-wife moved in and lived with a child support attorney by the name of Steve Sinkin in San Antonio Texas. After I paid my child support to the private agency she hired Mr. Sinkin sued me for then $165,000.00 which he stated was for "interest". I hired an attorney Dan Rutherford who represented me but never responded to Mr. Sinkin's notices and a judgement was rendered against me. Mr. Rutherford in court admitted he was responsible but never paid up or made it right. A hearing was set and Mr. Sinkin was notified but never showed up for the hearing so Judge Martha Tanner dismissed the whole case. One week later Mr. Sinkin showed up with the noticed and you could tell he smudged and changed the date on his court notice. I demanded that he be prosecuted for fraud and forgery of a court document. My attorney declined and everyone told me it would only harm his career as an attorney - NOTHING was done! So Mr. Sinkin subpoeaned my employer into court then I was fired from my job. I hired another attorney to sue Dan Rutherford - NOTHING was done! I moved out of state due to me not being able to find work after being fired from several jobs over this. Mr. Sinkin tracked me down and had me fired for several other jobs so I had my ex-wife file a satisfaction of judgement that I did not owe any child support or interest. I also declared bankruptcy and everything was DISCHARGED. Mr. Sinkin disputed this but never showed up as everyone is supposed to that disputes a debt. Therefore everything was discharged. Mr. Sinkin still garnishes 50% of everything he can. The Texas State Attorney General has attempted to send me money Steve Sinkin has taken (so far $6000.00) Mr. Sinkin has garnished more than $60,000.00 from me!! The Texas State Attorney General has filed motion after motion in court stating I DO NOT OWE CHILD SUPPORT (my two "children" are 32 and 34 years of age!) and Mr. Sinkin's figures are ALL WRONG!! Steve Sinkin even told one of my attorneys that he was going to have me arrested and they will find me "swinging" in my cell so I better have good life insurance. I even reported Mr. Sinkin to the Texas State Bar. They told me he has done nothing wrong! So that is justice in this country, a "sham". I am a military veteran and former law enforcement officer. This is entirely a DISGRACE to our legal and justice system. If you want to know more just call the Texas State Attorney General they have all of the records and so do I!

child supprt & bankruptcy

I know nothing about your case, but child support payments are not dischargeable in bankruptcy. They are a priority claim and if not fully paid (with interest, I would suspect) during bankruptcy, will still be there when you are discharged.

Steve Sinkin IS a slime ball!

Not only does he ruin peoples lives manipulating the Texas statutes, he is a married womanizer who will hit on anything that breathes! How do I know? Personal exerience my friend. He has a beauiful wife but still takes any opportunity to "get off" with anyone willing. I am one of the UNwilling. I can do without social diseases. Not only does Sinkin CARRY social diseases, is IS A SOCIAL DISEASE.

Disappointed by the courts in my beloved Texas

I didn't know my husband of 25 years had posted his experience with the court system in Texas on line. I have known this man for over 25 years. Together we have two beautiful children who are 25 and 12. He has only been the best father and husband to our family. He is not a deadbeat father! When we met he was a divorced father of two children who are now in their mid thirties. People should be aware that their are always to sides to every story. My husband tried to be there for his oldest children and he did pay his child support.But with divorce the children are the ones that suffer. The whole situation made my husband frustrated and upset, considering he did not want the divorce in the first place. His ex thought she could be happier with someone else, did not consider the feelings of the children. After she broke up this family and married someone else, she soon realized her second marriage was not working out. So she wanted first husband back but by this time first husband had met me and we had married. She was not happy so she started causing problems for us. I guess hoping that we would break up. But my husband who knows right from wrong and is a loyal and good person knew he couldn't put another child through a divorce. We have alway struggled to keep our family together in spite of all the injustices. I have helped him so he could pay his child support as well as being there for my stepchildren during summers and weekends when they lived with us. So in reponse to that person who unknowingly said that my husband was a deadbeat father no he is not. He loves all his children and regrets that he was not there for his two oldest when they woke up every morning, that right was taken away from him. My stepchildren will attest to that truth that like them their father,s choice was taken away from him. My husband was the first husband the ex has had several marriages since him. She only had children with my husband. So she believes he owes her for the rest of his life. I encouraged him to fight it when we lived in Texas, naively thinking he would get a fair shake. After all born and raised there I thought Texas epitomizes truth and justice. Boy was I Wrong and saddened that the courts in Bexar county are run by the good ol boy philosophy. It is who you know and who you owe favors to. I gave up and decided to move away, my children who are also innocent were being affected by my husbands divorce and ex. I miss my family, friends but I love my husband who has taken care of all of us in spite of all the battles and injustices his ex and attorney sinkin have thrown at us. I am one lucky woman to be married to a wonderful family man.

You Should Pay Your Child Support

I find it very strange that a man behind over 100k in child support would go public with the fact that his children had to hire an attorney so they could eat, have clothes,have a home etc. to every person that supports & enables dead beat parents to avoid and justify not paying child support, You should be ashamed of yourself & question your own values.

I think any person like Steven Sinkin that helps parents receive child support should be give a gold star, not criticism.

In reference to critics, if i was a looser and never paid for child support I wouldnt like Mr.Sinkin either!!! Your comments are very biased and pure lies...

Not Screwed in Texas

I checked on this lawyer named Randall Davidson. He never got a judgment against Steve Ssinkin. I also checked and found the court of appeals opinion styled Effner v Moore 2002 lexus 1449 he lost fair and square his complaint is against his lawyer not Sinkin. Sinkin has helped lots of women in Texas if you are owed child support he is the lawyer to see.

To screwed in Texas. I know exactly what you are saying is the truth. That man is slim sleze ball. And who cares anyway if it ruins his career. He has ruined so many lives in his quest to obtain money. He did the same to us. And every attorney we have spoke to that knows Sinkin says he is a slim ball working on the edge of disbarment at all times. He works above the law, on the side , at the bottom ,and never works within the Law and some one needs to take him down. That is the problem with san antonio tx justice system. What justice!! Let me guess was most of his paper work signed by the judge Larry knoll. If so they are in together.
He also told our lawyer that he would win the case because he contibuted to the judges. I wish I know how to contact you . I think with enough people we might be able to get something going to maybe get attention on this . I would like to know if their is a Lawyer out their that has the morals and fight to take this man on. I have heard of a Lawyer in Austin.He does not advertise and only takes on by referral. But he is a man that has taken Sinkin down a number of times. He just resently won a 68,000.00 Attorney fees from Sinkin him self . But as usual Sinkin thought he was not subject to the law. He contacted the man at work after the man had obtained a Lawyer. Big mistake for Sinkin.They countered sued and Sinkin had to pay up. The Attorney in Austins name is Randall Davidson. I sure wish I had known him before my suit. You cant locate him just by looking him up. Is their anyone in San Antonio Tx that can stand up the the Slim ball Sinkin . if So please write and leave your number or name .

I spoke with a person at the 37th Judicial Court House, Bexar County Texas and she told me that this case might relate to 84-CI-00620?? I am not sure but she said it is a real "circus". You can check it out. I don't know if it is the one you are requesting information on? She is a court clerk there and has been for 15 years. I work for an attorney in San Antonio and talk to many attornies and court clerks there.

Texas Laws are unfair and unjust

This is a shame! There should be a law that says
the court officials and all other representatives
not doing their jobs or duties as public servants
should have to spend time locked up. If a father
does anything that they consider illegal or wrong
in the child's mother's eyes, he is locked up and
has to pay fines and child support.
State laws about custody and child support should
be changed. How many children are abused, mis-
treated, and molested due to divorce? People don't
know it but most all children living with other
parents such as step parents are always abused in
some sort of way. They are the ones being hurt the
most and most all mothers never use the child
support money to care for the children but to care
for their habits and new men.

He should be disbarred for forging a document! Contact the BK court, and inform them that your wages are being garnished for a judgment that was included in BK. Get a copy and make sure his name is included, and then take it back to the court where the wage garnishment was filed. You will have to see the judge, but show him your BK papers including the Attorney?s name for judgment (if this is a civil suit). If it is for child support, then they will continue to take money because you can?t include child support into BK. If you have a copy of the paper that your ex-wife signed forgiving your arrearages, then take that to the court or DA. (provided that she never received public assistance)
