Seriously delinquent payments and still minimal assistance.

by Kim
(GA)

For the past 8 years I have dealt with an ex-husband who chose to be an absent father. I struggled constantly to provide for my children and I became quite inventive and tenacious through the difficult times. I learned that we can get disgusted from their lack of care and responsibility, but we still have to carry on and always do our best to overcome what seems like dire financial circumstances and provide the best care we can in spite of our circumstances. My ex owes me over $100,000 in arrears for two children. I am not a rocket scientist, but I will be very surprised if I ever see that money. Child support enforcement has done very little to assist in collecting for me. However, 3 months ago the ex did resurface and he actually has a JOB! The CSE sent his employer a contract by which the funds were to be deducted from his paycheck and sent to the agency to be paid to me. The employer is deducting the money from his check every week as instructed but is now spending it on his new 22 year old girlfriend instead of forwarding the funds as required by the CSE! After 8 long years I have finally started seeing a little relief and some bozo in a mid-life crisis is my new obstacle...ugh!! I know God will take care of my financial needs and I probably should not stress over this, but it's awful hard to not get frustrated over yet another party manipulating the system. The system needs a total overhaul before it can even think about being of any real assistance to our children. Somehow we need to unify and organize and do something that will make a real difference for our kids. I'm open to suggestions!

What can we do to change things for our children?
