State of Hawaii Child Support Screwed Up...

The State of Hawaii Child Support System is completely screwed up. I have been paying child support since 1997, although the State claims it began in 1999. Anyway, because the State of Hawaii automatically deducts wages electronically from my paychecks (which clearly shows up on my pay stubs), I thought that I was current after all these years. They deducted from my wages earned, garnished my and my current wife's tax returns every year since 2002, garnished my Alaska PFD's and some of my disability settlement award. Well, it seemed that I was on the right track right? WRONG! The State of HAwaii claims that I havent paid child support and have a balance owed to them in the amount of $11,937.00!!! I was extremely shocked! I contacted the child support office and apparently they have all my info...ALL past employers. Here is what they claimed:
1. the employers did not send them the money;
2. it might have gone under another account;
3. it went to a different department;
I told them that there's only of me, and since the State of Hawaii electronically garnishes my wages, they already should have it on their record, but they claim that they dont. I agree with paying child support, but Im furious about the State not keeping accurate records and losing my support payments...I mean WHERE THE HELL DID IT ALL GO? Its not like the court had asked me to send in a check every month, because the State does it automatically electronically. Instead of fixing the problem and finding the money, they chuck it off as saying I owe them. Now, they asked me if I could send in my records, pay stubs etc, to verify child support payments....I was like..WHAT? Why should I send them my records, when they should already have them??? What should I do? My attorney told me not to send it to them because they are the State and that they should find the money and fix the mistakes made by them and that if I send in my records, it would be free for the State, meaning that they need to subpoena all my records from the mainland and it would cost them money to do so...in other words, I did what was ordered for me to do and that the State of Hawaii needs to suck it up and look for all that money that THEY garnished...I love my girls, which I havent seen since 1997 and no matter how hard I try to see them, my ex wont even let me see them....I send Birthday gifts and Christmas gifts along with some money and every year its the same thing...RETURN TO SENDER...everything I send gets returned back to me except for the money...I think im a good father. I follow the Court order and the laws, but it seems that the laws dont give a damn about good fathers, they just want their money...what to do :(
