Support and the state of Texas

by john k
(biloxi ms)

I was married and divorced.(wife like to cheat alot) We had a daughter. Was paying my child support then got out of the Navy. 94-01 did not pay child support in 1999 my daughter asked me to sign over my parental rights to her new step dad. I didn't want to but she asked and I signed. not, adding past support be removed . So in 2004 they started taking child support out of my earnings. 280 a month for back support only. for the 7 years I didn't pay. 24000 I've been paying it's down to 10,200 and refund money for this year 2100 has not been deducted yet but under 8000 now. they didn't take my driver's license but my passport. I guess I"m lucky on that. she's 18 this year but I still have to pay all of it off. she's never ask to see me and has her step dad/adopted dad I was her father for 11 years but that is over. Texas, treats you like a dead beat dad if you pay or don't pay. they will release my passport when CS get to 2500 or less. which end of this year maybe april 2010 it will be all over. I'm bitter and all I can say is she better never need any kind of operation where the donor needs to be a family member. I guess she won't make it if they need my help.
