I'm the step mother of three. I have been reading all your stories and comments on this page for the last few days, looking for answers to our up coming CSR case, I have also commented to a few of the stories, and have come to the conclusion that some way both parties have been screwed one way or another. But what I see the most of is the Non Custodial parents that DO THERE PART big or small are getting treated like Crap from the AG office. Yes their are men and women that don't do their part and yes they should be punished. But the only way WE as Parents can get the system fixed is to make sure that our voices get heard...NEWSPAPERS,TV,RADIO, and MORE BLOGING! For example I was in the court room the day my husband divorced his ex, the lady in front of him was getting divorced with children when the judge asked her about child support she said she didn't want it because her soon to be ex didn't work... But low and behold the AG was their to step in and told her to ask for it. In my mind that was BS this women was going to get a divorce not wanting CS but the AG stepped in made sure someone was going to be paying his bills as well as the child for the next 18 yrs. Also what pisses me off is how much interest is put on to fathers that have gotten behind for some UNFORSEEN reason, I'm not talking about the ones that have never paid I'm talking about the ones that do there part and fall on bad times and get behind. Most of them people will never get ahead with the interest rates, but the AG won't drop the interest rate because that is how they get their money. Finally to the mothers that don't work and collect a check.... You all need to be BITCH SLAPED, I mean WHO MADE YOU GOD, THIS WORLD DON"T OWE YOU SHIT! Your children are a gift from GOD. That you USE as a paycheck, or as the AG office thinks our children are CREDIT CARDS (true fact was said) and it makes me sick. I had one friend tell me, when he and his ex broke up the last words out of her mouth was "WELL AT LEAST I GET CHILD SUPPORT OUT OF YOU"!(she doesn't have a job lives of the system) SO WE ALL NEED TO GET OUR VOICES HEARD TO MAKE SURE THAT THE SYSTEM WORKS FOR BOTH PARTIES. 50/50 are responsible for the children doesn't matter who lives with who. So both parties SHOULD BE WORKING TO GIVE THE CHILD A BETTER LIFE, AND THE TEXAS AG NEEDS TO STOP HARRASSING THE PEOPLE THAT DO THEIR PART AND GO AFTER THE ONES THAT DON'T!!!!! BECAUSE AS OF RIGHT NOW IT'S A JOKE!!!!

YOU NEED TO WORK ON YOUR SELF, I MET MY HUSBAND A YEAR AND HALF AFTER HE SEPERATED FROM HIS WIFE, AS FAR AS BEING AN ADULTRESS I'M FAR FROM IT!!!! HIS EX IS THAT ONE THAT WASN'T FAITHFULL!!!! MY HUSBAND DOES EVERYTHING AND MORE FOR HIS CHILDREN. HIS OLDEST SON IS LIVING WITH US FOR 4 MONTHS NOW AND HE IS STILL PAYING CHILDSUPPORT ON HIM!!!! SO BEFORE YOU MAKE COMMENTS TO ME OR MY HUSBAND LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR ALSO LOOK UP THE MEANING OF LOVE SELF WORTH... BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IT MEANS!!!!

THEY SAY THEY ARE OUT FOR THE KIDS MORE LIKE FOR THE WOMEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DADS RIGHTS WHEN THEY STARTED PUTTING INTEREST ON CHILD SUPPORT? I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ARE THE FATHERS BUYING THERE CHILDREN OR ARE THEY JUST SUPPOSE TO BE PAYING FOR HALF OF THERE SUPPORT? MY HUSBAND ORIGINALLY OWED 20,000 , HE HAS PAYED 17,000 THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SAYS HE STILL OWES 27,000 PLUS THE 150.00 A MONTH THEY CHARGE ON INTEREST, THATS 24,000 AND COUNTING IN INTEREST. THEY HAVE HIS WAGES GARNISHED, AND NOW AS OF LAST YEAR THEY HAVE WENT AFTER OUR INCOME TAX THEY TOOK HALF OF MY CHILD TAX CREDIT ALL THE EARNED INCOME CREDIT HALF OF OUR REBATE CHECK ALL OF WHICH WE QUALIFY FOR MY 5 AND 6 YR OLD DAUGHTER AND OUR 4 YR OLD SON.

You hit the nail on the head. I have written several posts to this site. Although I try to be impartial, it makes me mad when non-custodial parents get screwed for doing (or trying to) the right thing. Yes, the AG has taken this crap too far and the system lets them. As for writing to newspapers, you would be hard pressed in finding one with the courage to publish such an article. They fear any lawsuit the AG might bring against them. Unfortunatly, they will piss off the wrong person someday and he may go postal on them. The system needs some serious changing, but all those legal bastards and feminist pigs keep the law in their favor at the expense of broken families.

THIS IS A RESPONSE TO AG WHAT A JOKE. That's right on the money. All these men and women who don't work or do their parts GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND CONTRIBUTE TOO. Any body can make a child but it takes hard work, effort, time, patience, love, devotion, and ALSO A JOB FOR INCOME TO RAISE A CHILD. It's not WE working parents job to pay for child(ren). AG IS JUST A BIG FAT JOKE!!!!!!! PARENTS WHO AREN'T BEING TREATED EQUAL NEED TO BE HEARD........
