Texas child support is horrendously slanted towards women.

When my 3 year old child was torn from my arms so that she could go live with her deadbeat mother, I thought that as the worst day of my life.

Now, 10 years later after paying for the many years of her moving my daughter to 6 new schools, moving no less than 3 boyfriends and one new (and now ex) husband and their kids in and out of her life, and changing jobs 7-8 times, I find out that I get to give this woman more money to buy new cars and date new people while my daughter sits and home.

Why? Because, as I told the judge 10 years ago, I have a stable life and can hold a job more than three months. So my pay actually increases. Why did I not get to keep my daughter when I clearly had the more stable background and nurturing environment? Because I am male. Period.

The more I work, the more she gets. She gets the time with my daughter (when she uses it), I get to pay her bar tab.

I will have to discontinue my little girls college fund to pay for the increase in child support.

Great job Mr. Abbott.

Texas child support is just another form of government subsidized socialism.

Having a child with a man is a proof that the woman had sex with the man. Asking for money for sex is called prostitution in simple words.
If a man loves his children and want to pay for their expenses he is a good dad otherwise he is a dog. In either case a man should not be forced to pay for having sex with a woman who did not love him in the first place. It is all messed up antichrist way of life.
History shows that men could contribute more if he really feels freedom. Given 50% rate of broken families and mostly men paying the child support, men find happiness in drugs and women then in adventure. Without a true input from the men a country can only do so much. This too will end and if nothing is done about it it will end very badly.

It's good to see we're not the only ones going through this! My husbands baby momma (I say that b/c they were never married) Thank God, would leave her with him when she was 2 & wouldn't look back for weeks or months!! Then when we started dating it slowed down & she actually met a good guy that we liked & got along with but she was to self involved that she couldn't see how great he was & kept leaving & goin back to him! Eventually she met & married a different guy after only knowing him a year but not before she up & moved to a different state (Alaska) with him after only a few months! Now our daughter wants to come home & her mother is saying no, go figure! If she said yes she'd lose her pawn over us! I've looked through cs papers & I can't find anything to help us!! Thanks a bunch Greg Abbott now she's unhappy & apparently We can't do a damn thing to bring her home where she belongs!! Maybe the AG has "daddy issues"!

They don't do anything

My ex wife was supposed to pay child support over two years. I am the custodial parent. I have been back and forth to court and she is told to pay but never did. Texas AG also had the file. Finally, when she got a job all they did was garnish her wages with no regard for back child support owed. (She quit her first job when her wages were to be garnished). She has violated every court order, from breaking into my home, to having her boyfriend spend the night when the children were there, had her boyfriend arrested for family violence and then it was dismissed, and nothing is done to make her accountable. I allow her to see the children but the courts do nothing to make her clean up her act, and the Texas AG doesn't help at all. It took AG 9 months to get to the child support issue and by then we were back in court. It amazes me that she can afford an attorney but can't afford to pay the child support. I am extremely angry at the system. It is a joke. If she had the children and I did what she has done, I would be in jail.

I found I had a daughter when she was 10 months old. I was scared and excited, but didn't run away from my responsibility. I have never missed a payment in 17yrs, but still can't see her when I want etc.. The courts in Texas are quick to notify my employer when it comes to garnishing wages, or increasing my amount paid. Conversley I get treated like one of the "deadbeat dads" on the posters on the walls in the local support office.

I get frustrated as I watch her mother freeload from man to man, and in/out of her own mother's house while spending my child support money on everything except the child! I drive a beatup truck and live in a shack while she lives it up.
Top this off with not being able to see my child according to the papers, and it's almost too much. The should tie payments into visitation somehow because if you're a female it's in your best interest to have a few kids with a few different men and you'll never have to work again.

If you are a man, you get treated like dirt even though you've stood up like you should and taken on the responsibility. My daughter turns 18 next year and I personally cannot wait to STOP sending 20% of my paycheck in for a daughter I hardly ever get to see.

To the mother, the child is only a pawn that equates to a monthly paycheck. Plain a simple.

Every single one of you needs to write a letter to your local congressman- They will check on the situation. If we don't let anyone know about the injustice of reverse discrimination by our AG, they cannot do anything about it!!!

Im paying $1400/ month for 2 children. 17.5% for each other mother because my children have different mothers. I could care for both of them myself and not require any child support or medical insurance from the mothers. If the courts act in the best interest of the children why wouldnt they give me custody? Im obviously more capable of caring for my children than their mothers. Additionally, Im being penalized for having 2 kids from different mothers because if they were from the same mother I would only be paying 25%. Why doesnt then the state lower the amount that a mother gets if she has children from different fathers? Its a double standard...this whole system is sick.

I'm a stepmother of two and their bio mother keeps moving from man to man and state to state never notifying us or the courts beforehand. We, on the other hand, have been stable and in the same town for 3 years now. If the AG is so "pro children", why the hell can't they see that they would be better off in a stable environment even if it is with the FATHER. GREG ABBOTT is totally against all fathers. All they're interested in is getting money and not the future and stability of these kids.

I totally agree. It is sickening to see my kids suffer with how their mother use their support money. I sit back and watch her cloth her other four kids in name brand designer clothes and then I get my kids or see them with pants that are too short, shoes ran over, and clothing sometimes dirty. In saying this, she has 2 cars and an SUV. Oh, and let me not forget that she is always dressed to impress. I have no problem taking care of my kids. That's my resposibility! But to sit back and watch her ex husband pay no child support for four kids and she take what I pay for my kids to cloth her older kids in designer is painful.

Thanks AG, but what do you expect from a man that's caught up in his own greed. Like trying to sell our tolls. He can fight Conn's Appliance Store but not for men that actually take a stand for their kids, has a stable environment and that are responsible.

I have to say that is about the true last Dec my husbands child support went from 300 a month to 841 a month for 1 child. In July my stepson came to live with us we tried to get the childsupport stopped and it took 90 days before he could meet with his case worker. When he went to the meeting his Ex didn't show up so they called her on the phone and did the meeting over the phone. She agree to droping the childsupport and my husband agreed to 300 a month for the back child support that he owed fine no big deal my husband signed and we thought we were finally going to see the LIGHT....Man we were dead wrong first off since she wasn't at the meeting she didn't sign the papers they had to send them to her. So that gave her 2 more weeks of working on her son to convince him to move back with her, see since he moved in with us and would go vist her on the weekends, my stepson would come back after the weekend and tells us what he would get if he moved back Like computer, xbox, wii. playstation 3. He dicided on Thanksgiving vacation not to come back. We couldn't compete with that. If the AG was on top of their game they would have made sure she was at that meeting to sign those papers but NO IT IS ALL ABOUT GREED to the AG for the goverment kick backs they get from the TAX PAYERS, AND GREED TO THE UNEMPLOYED MOTHERS THAT JUST WANT SOME ONE ELSE TO TAKE CARE OF THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE LAZY!!!! Needless to say if my stepson wants to come back and live with us he won't be able to my husband it tired of my stepson MOVING FROM GRANDMA'S, BACK TO MOM's THEN WITH US, THEN BACK WITH MOM'S THE BOY IS 11 YRS OLD AND FOR THE LAST 4 YRS HE HAS BEEN BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN EVERYONE AND MY HUSBAND said it is time he deals with his problems with his mother instead of moving back and forth.I feel sorry for my stepson but I agree with my husband he can't keep moving back and forth. But Like I said if the AG was on top of their game and were not so anti male NCP would be treated better. Our problem should have been taken care of soon as the boy moved in with us and maybe we could have bought the computer, xbox, wii playstation 3. Thanks alot MR. ATTORNEY GENERAL WAKE UP GREG
