Texas Child support Laws CROOKED!
In most other states, for instance Ohio which my ex-husband was order to pay support, takes into account BOTH parents income when calculating support. As I feel it should be. But not Texas. They take 20% off the top of the non-custodial parent regardless of their situation and regardless of how well off the mother is. So my husband pays his support as always. When he retired his x agreed to a reduced amount that was 20% of his retirement pay at the time and it was signed and became a court order.
When her current husbands child support went up a couple hundred dollars cause he had retired and got a high paying job ontop of his retirement she decided she wanted more money from my husband since he now receives disability as well. It has only been a year. She told him she just wanted what she was entitled to. However, I dont receive support for my two children and my husband and I have two of our own together.
So we have 4 kids in our home we support, plus the child support for his one son with his x. So now we hear she has just had all her carpet replaced with hardwood floors, just bought a brand new truck AND an camper trailer!!!! BUT, she wants more money from us to help her support ONE kid while we are supporting FIVE. Under the current law when his child support is recalculated he will owe about $120 more dollars per month.
The child doesnt need this money for support, and it seems luducris to me that tax payers are paying for this to review and adjusted amount to be processed just to satisfy her greed! Not to mention when he needed a review when he retired the AG told him he had to get a lawyer and do it on his own which he did, but when she wanted it reveiwed one year later she got the AG to process the reveiw for her for free!!!! Why is that legal???
