The State Of Florida Doesnt Help

by Kimberly
(Marco Island Florida USA)

I recently moved to the state of Florida and had my support order transferred down from the state of Washington where the non custodial parent lives. Since then I havent had one full payment if I get it at all they hold on to it for weeks dont post it to the right account and then want me to wait 30-45days for them to fix it. The current support order if 635 a month and I get 191 I have no idea what to do this is what my children and I live off for the month. I dont want much I just want what is legally mine I dont even mind the portion of what I get. i know that times are hard on him as well and I would like to think that if he had the extra money to pay the rest of his child support he would. I just would like the state to give me what I do get to me in a timely manner. I have tried to research the federal laws on how long they can hold it and if they can take out fees for touching it, but I have no such luck. Just makes me wonder if the state realizes that all that they are hurting is the children not the parents that money is what puts food on the table, or a roof over their heads and then they don't want you to go on tanf yet they wont even tell you what they are doing on the case. Its just frustrating.
