In the same boat by: Hollie
I am in NY and my ex lives in TN. I finally got a judment for child support and was receiving payments for approximately a month...only because they were garnished. He decided that the amount was too much ($500/month) and he had nothing to live on..or this is what I hear from his step mother-in-law. He either got himself fired or quit his job to avoid support payments. He is the type of person that will sit and drain TN umemployement for all its worth because he knows they won't garnish it. Then I'm sure when that runs out he will take every under the table job he can find in order to avoid payments. We are at $13,000 in arrears and counting...
I can't find any answers either on how to collect support from him while he's on unemployment in another state.

Ironic by: Anonymous
I am sorry you are having such a hard time raising your children and that you were abandoned by your x-husband. What I find so ironic is my husband wants to be in his children's lives and he pays his child support on time, but they still suspended his license and he has no visitation with his children because the mothers are mad that he got married. It just burns me up to see a real deadbeat dad get off scott free and my husband who is a responsible father and man go through the hassles of the system and gets nothing in return. If you had your way, how would you reform the child support system? Please email me at eshantell@hotmail.com to discuss. I am trying to start a movement.
