How can it be felt that he abandoned you guys when YOU are the one who left the country as soon as you found out that you were pregnant? If he was a Marine, then most likely he could have been in Special Operations, deployed abroad, etc., and not have been able to receive your messages.

I think your daughter needs to understand that he may not have known about her, and to make a judgment of him AFTER she meets him. It bothers me to hear about children who think negatively of their absent parents when they do not know both sides of the story.
