What about the loser mother!!!!

My story is about my husband's children from a previous marriage...from the beginning 2002 i met the perfect man who had custody of his 4 small children..we married and it was perfect until my mother in law stepped in and we could not control the kids for her wanting to play the mother role...so in 2005 me and my husband and our new born baby moved to tennessee after hurricane Katrina and my husband signed a power of attorney over to his mother until we could come up and buy a home and get jobs and stable to bring the other 4 children up... 3 months tops...we thought until we cameback to mississippi to get them and the mother in law informed us that she had went to court and got full custody while we were up here and we have been fighting every since and for my newborn baby that is now 5 yrs old her grandmother has absolutely nothing to do with her...and she won't let my husband and i see the kids.. but she lets their so called crack headed, prostituting mother c them... in which proceeded on the next subject of this so called babys mama whom did not c the children by her choice from the time she signed custody over voluntarily to their father in 1999 until 2007 when my mother in law allowed my then 13 yr old step daughter go live with her real mom whom then prostituted my step daughter out and got her on all kinds of illegal drugs in south carolina until the police picked both up for solicitation and put my step daughter in a girls home until she turned 18...this past june... now mississippi child support services whom we pay every month has sent us a letter saying my husband is behind on his child support because they can't seem to get payments put in their system for 3 weeks after they receive them....what is the problem with this picture???? 1st question would be how can a grandparent get custody of ur kids without u signing papers..2nd why are we paying 375 a month when the mother of the children has never had to pay a dime because they say they can't locate her..3rd why don't mississippi hire people who are competent in doing their job...
