What Child Support!!!????

In 1984 I divorced my husband and tried to collect child support for our 2 boys ages 3 and 4. I begged I pleaded, I gave them addresses of his work, home etc....never got one dime! I was actually told by one of the workers to go on welfare then the state would look harder for him to get their money back!!!

It was a hopeless case, All I really needed and wanted was help with the day care since I too worked full time, and couldn't afford it, I wasn't asking for anything crazy. But my parents were the ones who ended up having to help me. Then in 1993 I got a check out of the blue and then 2 weeks after this was served papers to go to court he was asking for his child support to be lowered!! HA HA So I went to court and he got it lowered from 600.00 a month to 158.00 a month! Then after winning this he was gone again in hiding and I never saw another dime, until 2007, all of a sudden I was getting checks on a regular basis, of 158.00!!! WOW Come to find out he was too old and tired of running I suppose and so his paycheck was being deducted monthly for BACK child support....I'll never get what is owed to me or my boys, and I don't really care now, I just really needed it then, and just was not able to get any help at all....the system sucks big time, and no I never went on welfare, so I guess if you don't it takes them forever to go after the other parent...maybe had I gone on welfare they would have acted quicker?? Who knows....I use the child support for my grand daughter now....
