What does the Texas AG office do?
Texas AG is one of the most disorganized and ineffective branches of local government and waste of tax payor dollars I have ever witnessed.
Local and state offices are a revolving door of untrained personnel with no system or processes that track and follow status of cases. Custodial parents are reduced to continuous office visits and emails restating every aspect of case file to 'newly assigned' notetaker. Management changes so frequently and files rotated in and out so often it leaves parent with custody the single option of keeping track of address and employer of ex-spouse themselves or forcing them to hire a private attorney to get into court. My ex-husband never showed up to court when AG office was handling because he know there was no recourse. He was either a no-show or would call in sick. Ridiculous. I would only learn this after I had taken the day off and sat in courtroom waiting for my name to be called.
It has been nearly 4 years since my ex paid any child support, (last payment was $25.00 for 3-kids) and the AG has never contacted him regarding deliquentcy, scheduled further court dates, suspended his TXDL, issued a warrant for contempt or sent me any correpondence regarding status.
Again - what does AG office do?
