What to do?

by Chip
(Phoenix)

I recently broke up with my girlfriend and now share custody of our daughter without having to go to court yet. I get our daughter 3 days a week while her mom gets her 4 days a week. I live on my own, work the days I don't have my daughter and on the days I do have her I support her like any normal parent would.

Recently the mother of my child has brought up child support for our daughter. Now for starters I am all for child support if it really is necessary. If your a dead-beat dad and don't spend time with your child then yes you should have to pay child support. But for me I feel like she is trying to take advantage of me. She moved back in with her mother where she doesn't even pay rent. Even though she hasn't had to pay rent for the last two years she lived with me. Has a job but only works two days a week because that is all she wants to work. Goes to college part time.... if taking one class is considered part time, her dad pays her car insurance and mom pays her cell phone bill.

As for me I pay my own apartment rent in which exceeds over 700 dollars, pay my daughters medical insurance which is over 200 a month, pay my electric, pay for gas for my vechicle..which comes to quite a sum every week due to my work which I do not get compensated back for, pay my auto insurance, also have to buy the necessities my 1 year old daughter needs and food to put in both our bellies.

Now its my opinion that I don't see why it would be necessary for me to pay her money.... do you?? I think it would be in her best interest to work more because if I had to go to court and for some reason the judge found it necessary for me to pay child support I think he would tell me the same thing.... what do you think??
