Well, sorry to say but glad to see I am not alone. The money owed is $56,000.00 plus medical. We get a few payments, then he moves again. "It is too early to do a paid search". Well, does it have to get to $100,000.00. Where are the Feds with all their fancy laws. My taxes were garnised because he did not pay the medical bills (my son's aeortic valve leaked) and it was a state hospital. He lived out of state and does not file taxes. Where are we supposed to go for help? If I treated my kids this way, I would be arrested for neglect, abuse etc. Why can't the government pay us and then they go after him for the monies owed. I bet they wouldn't let it get so far behind. Maybe instead of foreign aid, we should have some at home aid.

Does the government care about the kids??? by: Becky Prater
Well, I guess my story differs a bit. They know where my ex is but dont inforce him paying regularly. But then when tax time comes around I can assure you they take that money but they keep it. There are months when I live with only two hundred a month because I am unable to work because of having a tumor removed from my spinal cord. But because I have to apply for assistance they get to keep all the tax they intecept. I dont know what they think my two children should live on. I guess the 185 a month they recieve, While I guess the child support they finally collect goes to them so much for the kids we just sitting back watching our kids suffer while the government gets rich on our childrens money and no one will do anything. But you don't see all these politician runnig for office talking about that. I called the state of Tennessee and said I wanted an appeal and was hung up on not once but twice. What a government we have and they wonder why crime is up maybe its just people trying to take care of what the government won't.

FIND PEACE by: Sydnee W
Of course people usually, don't plan to be a single parent, but that is the hand that we were dealt. I do ask where is the help out of frustration an anger for these men who are living care free.,but I also find peace in knowing that although things in my life have not gone according to plan..my children and I are surviving without the help of the deadbeats. No, it is not easy, but no one ever said it would be. I take pride in knowing that I can accomplish anything and what greater motivation than that of our children. I hope it brings you peace to know that God can serve these deadbeat fathers an mothers a better dish than we ever could. It may not happen when you want it to, but believe it will be right on time..

I wonder where is the help too! by: Anonymous
I am a single mother of 3. My kids father lives in North Carolina. I have a decent job and I am struggling to make ends meet. I applied for medicaid for my children and have been turned down 3 times because of my income. I currently have an application pending through another medicaid organization. It has taken 3 years of tracking my ex down to get papers mailed to him. We have a court date of Aug.5th. He says he is not coming and if they want him they better come get him. He is currently married to a women that has 3 kids (none are his). They live in a brand new house, she just bought a lexus (she doesnt work) he has a new truck and they both have brand new motorcycles. he also owes over 15k in child support for another child. What am I supposed to do about getting support for my kids if he doesn't show up in court?
