WHERE IS THE HELP??

by Sydnee W.
(Compton, Ca)

My story is a common one in the are in which I reside. I have allowed myself to become a statistic.. I have 4 children, I am currently on assistance from the government. (no, it hasn't always been that way). Those that have had to apply know that when you do apply those working for the District Attorney ask for all the information that you have on the missing parent.. I don't hesitate to give Any and All information that I have. It frustrates me because I have given social security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, relatives names, other children's names, and NOTHING happens. They always give me the run around. I hear we have done a search, but nothing comes back, and we have sent a verification to the post office but haven't received anything back. I am at my wits end. I have an 11, 9, 3, an 8 month old with NO help. What do you do when you don't know who else to turn too? Who do you turn to when the people that are Supposed to help you. DON'T!
