Wife still has husband on child support and their still together...

by shantel
(beaumont tx us)

I had an issue thats been bothering me for a long time now... Well my baby's father i was dating didnt tell me that he was married at the time and i got pregnant by him as time went by.... so to make a long story short... By the time i found out that he was married i was already pregnant and somehow the wife knew about me. So she had a child by him as well, so when she found out about me being pregnant by her husband she put him on child support before i had my baby.... But like i said before to make a long story short, they are back together and she still has him on child support and the disturbing point about that is that he told me that he wants his wife to take him off of child support now that they are back together. But she wont take it off him because he told me that she told him that the money is still coming back into the household even though their back together... and she gets $360.00 every 2 weeks when he gets paid versus my $119.00 every 2 weeks.

And thats $720.00 a month for i child.... can someone tell me how she gets $720.00 a month and i get $238.00 a month....I just feel that that is wrong because I am a single parent out here struggling to make it for me and my baby and there is people out there that has 2 incomes versus my one income and can still get away with keeping child support still coming into their household knowing that their back together....how is this possible... She is a teacher and he is an 18 wheeler truck driver, and i work for wal mart.... so i was just wondering if i could contact the state first to see how this is possible... and possibly try to get an law overtuned by the house of congress about married couples still living in an household together and still allowing the child support coming into the household... Because i feel that his wife is trying to hurt my baby by keeping the child support on her husband and when a single parent like me needs it the most to take care of my little one... Thanks for listening....

Tell the State

If the state finds out they are together, her child support will stop. Make sure they find out.

Only in Texas

We'll All I can tell you is that if the wife filed first and her child is the first born she will be recieving more money than you. In this State the child suport laws are flawed and this women is just doing it out of spit or she is planning on not sticking around to long because most women with a brain would have went ahead a droped it. But she know if she drops it and things don't work out with her and her husbend she will get a lower amount.

All Laws

I'm sorry to hear about your story, but in the grander scheme of things pretty much all child support laws need to be re-examined and changed.
